Keeping the story short, somewhere last month(s) I updated my bios, and this time whole compilation went without any problems, using grub from .config with configuration for booting.

You still gotta recompile to get rid of/change “Welcome to GRUB” message. (thanks devs for not allowing to change that with config file)
